My heart is bleeding and I can’t deal with the pain
Your words cut through me like a knife
These wounds will never heal, these scars will still remain
I feel like I’m dead inside, but somehow still alive

I’m not an angsty teenager, just going through a phase
I’m not just trying to find myself, I’m not just at that age
I’m a zombie, (I’m 16)
Noone understands me (cuz I can’t speak)
It’s me against society (and I’m hungry)
They call me Mr Undead-
But I’m also Misunderstood

It was the
Planets aligning with the moon
That made me rise up from my tomb
I lurched around past my curfew
And so you sent me to my room

Next day your were banging on my door
Said that I needed to do my chores
I don’t think you even realize
That I’m not living anymore

Tell me what page it’s on
In the Necronomicon
that says before the dead will walk the earth
They had to mow the lawn?

I don’t want your sympathy; I don’t need your lame advice
You can’t tell me how to live cuz technically I already died

You could never feel my pain; I don’t know why you even try
You can’t tell me how to live cuz technically I’m not alive

And later on the very next day
You logged into my myspace page
And read the blog that I just wrote
That said I wanted to eat your brains

You’re stupid rules are all so lame
And you’re nagging is relentless
I don’t see how my eating brains
Is any of your business

Your sticks and stones may break my bones
And your flamethrowers may burn me
But only direct headshots
Ultimately concern me

I don’t want your sympathy; I don’t need your lame advice
You can’t tell me how to live cuz technically I already died

You could never feel my pain; I don’t know why you even try
You can’t tell me how to live cuz technically I’m not alive

Clean you room, take out the trash, go to school and cut the grass
No more groans no more growls, no more moaning pointless vowels

Get a haircut get a job, don’t eat the cat don’t eat the dog
No more lurching ,no more drool, I’m sick and tired of all your rules

I’m a zombie, (I’m 16)
Nobody dont understand me (cuz I can’t speak)
It’s me against society (and I’m hungry)
They call me Mr Undead-
But I’m just Misunderstood

really nailed the generic musical formula for this genre: the simple chord progressions, solos, and especially the whiney, pseudo-british, post-greenday accent. great stuff.

I'm not a parent, but why can't I just drop-kick my teenage zombie?

And speaking of teenage zombies, there's a humor story called "Diary of Radioactive, Flesh Eating Teenage Zombie" that was just put up yesterday at YankeePotRoast.org. Pretty funny.

Gotta be the best phrase in the song.

Norm, you worked in so many bad puns and turns of phrases into that song, you deserve to be shot or praised, I'm not sure which.

The song, plus Mr. Anderson's recent story, remind me of the classic skit by dcLugi:

http://www.superdeluxe.com/sd/contentDetail.do?id=D81F2344BF5AC7BBF40718B8D2287F9A05B1D155053D1673

There was a brilliant follow-up of him cleaning up the blood while his girlfriend yells at him "Thats what you get from playing video games all day!". But alas, I canna find that clip anymore.

In fact, I wonder if Norm and dcLugi are related...
But one day when Adam was taking a snooze, God plucked out his rib and created the blues!

I'm in the slow group at school. Is there a link to the song itself outside the podcast? Great stuff! Del.

Down in these parts, the relevant euphemism is "ride the short bus".

Wow. Two videos, and two new ways to use the word 'shameless!'

Are these likely to be released as B-sides?

Doesn't creative commons attribution mean the guy needs to attribute to Norm?

Yes, it does. I think it also means he should have gotten permission to use it, but I'm only 90% on that.

I don't get what's with all the You Tube people who take other people's video and music and "remix" it. I can take someone else's movie and spend 19 minutes shuffling the parts around. Then I can slap someone else's music over it. Yeah for me.
