He was an old man wanting to die because he felt there was nothing left to live for, paralleling an ancient being, eons older, wanting to live because she felt, in all her travels, she had only scratched the surface of living. What is worth living for, whether it's 70 years or a 70 billion years, and what is time/why does it matter at all?
Saying it's only about a guy second-guessing suicide is like saying Animal Farm is about some animals who throw out humans and bicker about who should run the place.

I don't deny that many people felt this way about the story. And I certainly don't want to take that that away from you. Due to a number of circumstances, I personally want to spend my time and energy exploring life to it's fullest right now. This story represents a thought process that I don't plan to have for a while.

What a race! It's gonna be a photo-finish.

Wish Zombies could run faster.

That'd be a good thing to put out on twitter.

Ah, a use. Just how do you do that in under 141 characters?
It is something that has to be proved scientifically, that a human being turned into a goat.

You know, that's a point. Twitter really is like the drabble of the IM world!

Crap. This is what I get for being out for surgery -- couldn't nominate the tales I thought should be here :?

Just wanted to thank the two nods people gave in the other thread for my work. It's much appreciated.

When does voting close?

indeed, midnight tuesday. Unless there's a tie, then we'll just start a new poll with the tied stories and keep it open another week.

Canada votes for her very own Celine, er, that is to say, "Sing". If she wins, we challenge your Linda Evans' Yanni to a Super-Singer death match. We want to see our Celine clean your Yanni's Pacific Time Zone clock, eh?
